...The National Weather Service in Blacksburg Va has issued
   a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Virginia...West 
   Virginia...

  New River Near Galax affecting Carroll and Grayson Counties
  as well as the City of Galax
  New River At Radford affecting Montgomery and Pulaski Counties
  as well as the City of Radford
  New River At Glen Lyn affecting Giles...Mercer...Monroe and Summers
  Counties

 ...Heavy rainfall, indirectly associated with Tropical Storm Matthew,
  now located near Augusta Georgia, on the order of 2-4 inches with local
  amounts to 6 inches, has resulted in excessive runoff into several
  areas of the New River basin. Additional heavy rainfall is expected
  today as the remnants of Hurricane Michael track northeast across the Carolinas. Consequently, flooding along the New River and its
  tributaries can be expected over the next couple of days.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive through flooded areas...the water may be much deeper 
than you think.

statements or warnings.

  Flood Stage is 9.0 feet. Moderate Flood Stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast. 
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage this afternoon and continue to
  rise to near 10.0 feet by this evening. The river is then forecast 
  to fall below flood stage Friday morning.
* Impact...at 11.0 feet...Route 634 (Grinders Mill Road) on the right 
  bank may become flooded.
* Flood history...this crest compares to a previous crest of 10.0 
  feet on Sep 17 2018.

  is then forecast to fall below flood stage Friday evening.
* Impact...at 20.0 feet...Flooding along sections of Hazel Hollow 
  road (State Route 626) on Pulaski County side of the river.

  The river is then forecast to fall below flood stage Saturday morning.
* Impact...at 17.0 feet...Some campsites along the river are 
  affected.
