The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Western Pulaski County in southwestern Virginia...
  Southwestern Giles County in southwestern Virginia...
  Bland County in southwestern Virginia...
  Central Wythe County in southwestern Virginia...

* Until 930 AM EDT Thursday

* At 1225 AM EDT, rainfall of 2-4 inches fell in the warned area 
  Wednesday evening, with isolated 6 inch amounts.  Excessive runoff 
  will continue for several more hours. Low-lying, flood prone, and 
  poor drainage areas may remain flooded throughout the night. While 
  the heavy rain of Wednesday evening has moved out of the area, 
  additional heavy rainfall is expected later tonight and Thursday 
  as Hurricane Michael moves northeast through the Carolinas later 
  tonight and Thursday morning.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Pulaski...
  Wytheville...
  Bland...
  Narrows...
  and Max Meadows.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
Nobusiness Creek...
Miller Creek...
Cedar Run...
Slate Spring Branch...
and Back Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
