...A FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS REMAINS IN EFFECT 
UNTIL 345 AM EDT FOR ALLEGHANY...WILKES...WATAUGA AND ASHE COUNTIES 
IN NORTHWESTERN NORTH CAROLINA...

At 205 AM EDT, rainfall had diminished in the warned area. However, 
2-4 inches of rain fell Wednesday evening and excessive runoff into 
creeks, streams, and rivers continues at this hour. Flooding was 
reported earlier in the evening. Additional rainfall over the next 
few hours will be light, but rainfall will increase again toward 
daybreak as Tropical Storm Michael moves northeast into the 
Carolinas.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Boone...
North Wilkesboro...
Wilkesboro...
Sparta...
and Jefferson.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
