National Weather Service BLACKSBURG VA
1127 AM EDT THU OCT 11 2018

The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The City of Salem in west central Virginia...

* Until 1130 PM EDT Thursday

* At 1124 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain  across the 
  warned area. Up to an inch of rain has fallen in portions of the 
  warned area since yesterday. Additional heavy rainfall is expected 
  to continue into the afternoon as the outer circulation of 
  Tropical Storm Michael encounters a cold front that is approaching 
  from the west. Flash flooding is expected to be possible well into 
  the afternoon.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Salem.

* This is being issued for City of Salem only due to the inadvertent 
  omission of Salem in the previous warning number 122.

This includes The following Location The Salem Fairgrounds.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports and
