Ashe County in northwestern North Carolina... * Until 100 PM EDT * At 700 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen since yesterday . The additional rainfall moving through currently is associated with the outer circulation of Tropical Storm Michael. The rainfall will increase in intensity and coverage through the morning and persist for an extended period of time. * Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly as rainfall increases across the county during the next few hours. * Some locations that will experience flooding include... North Wilkesboro... Wilkesboro... Sparta... Jefferson... and West Jefferson. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
