PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message. If you encounter deep water while driving, do not 
attempt to drive through. Turn around, dont drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Haw River At Haw River.
* from this evening to Saturday afternoon, or until the warning is 
  cancelled.
* At  2:45 AM Thursday the stage was 2.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage by this evening 
  and continue to rise to near 29.5 feet by tomorrow morning. The 
  river will fall below flood stage by early Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 30.0 feet, A mill on the left bank begins to flood.
* Impact...At 28.0 feet, Flood waters reach the bottom of the bridge 
  across I40.
* Impact...At 27.0 feet, Major flood stage. The town of Haw River 
  begins flooding.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet, Trailer homes adjacent to the river and the 
  water treatment plant flood. Evacuations may be necessary.
* Impact...At 25.5 feet, The water treatment plant building floods.

  the Haw River Near Bynum.
* from this evening to late Saturday night, or until the warning is 
  cancelled.
* At  2:45 AM Thursday the stage was 3.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage by tonight and 
  continue to rise to near 18.6 feet by tomorrow early afternoon. The 
  river will fall below flood stage by Saturday afternoon.
* Impact...At 17.0 feet, Major flood stage. Several homes along the 
  right bank of the river are flooded.
