The Flash Flood Watch continues for * A portion of central North Carolina, including the following areas, Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Durham, Edgecombe, Forsyth, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Orange, Person, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne, and Wilson. * From Thursday morning through late Thursday night. * Heavy rain will spread northeastward across central North Carolina starting early Thursday morning. The heaviest rain will occur late Thursday morning through Thursday evening. Storm total rainfall amounts of 3 to 7 inches are expected, with the heaviest rain across the Piedmont. Rain may fall at rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. * These rainfall amounts and intensities may produce flash flooding, particularly in low lying and poor drainage areas, and near creeks, streams, and ditches.
