...The flood warning continues for the Mississippi River affecting
   areas in Illinois and Missouri...
 
   At Cape Girardeau affecting Alexander...Jackson...
   Union...Cape Girardeau...Perry and Scott Counties. 
   At Thebes affecting Alexander and Scott Counties. 
 
.A considerable amount of water continues to flow down the 
Mississippi River due to heavy rains over the past couple of weeks
north of St. Louis, MO. Minor flood conditions will begin at Cape
Girardeau, MO late this evening and at Thebes, IL Saturday morning. 
At Cape Girardeau, moderate flood conditions will develop late
Sunday evening. The river at Thebes, IL is now forecast to crest
just below the moderate flood threshold. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded 
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow 
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather 
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* At 10 AM Thursday the stage was 31.1 feet. 
* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late this evening
  and crest near 38.5 feet Thursday, October 18.
* Impact...At 38.0 Feet...The flood gate at Broadway closes.
