...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in 
Illinois and Missouri...

  Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau and Thebes
   
.Recent heavy rainfall over the Upper Mississippi River Valley will 
cause river flooding to develop on the Mississippi River at Cape
Girardeau and at Thebes. Moderate flooding is forecast next week at 
both locations. The river will reach minor flood stage early this 
weekend. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded 
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow 
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather 
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* from late Thursday night until further notice.
* At  8:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 30.1 feet. 
* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early Friday morning and 
  continue to rise to near 38.5 feet by Thursday, October 18.
* Impact...At 38.0 Feet...The flood gate at Broadway closes.

* Flood Stage is 33.0 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Saturday early afternoon and 
  continue to rise to near 37.0 feet by Thursday, October 18.
