...The flood warning continues for the Mississippi River affecting
   areas in Illinois and Missouri...
 
   At Cape Girardeau affecting Alexander...Jackson...
   Union...Cape Girardeau...Perry and Scott Counties. 
   At Thebes affecting Alexander and Scott Counties. 
 
.Due to persistent heavy rain across the Mississippi River basin
north of St. Louis Missouri over the past week, a significant
amount of water will be flowing downstream. Minor flood conditions
will develop early this weekend at Cape Girardeau, MO and Thebes,
IL. Moderate flood conditions will develop at Cape Girardeau
Monday afternoon, and at Thebes next Thursday when the river is
forecast to crest. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded 
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow 
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather 
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

The Flood Warning continues for the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau.
* from late Thursday night until further notice.
* At 10 AM Wednesday the stage was 29.5 feet. 
* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Friday morning 
  and crest near 38.5 feet on Thursday, October 18. 
* Impact...At 38.0 Feet...The flood gate at Broadway closes.

* At 10 AM Wednesday the stage was 28.4 feet. 
* Flood Stage is 33.0 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Saturday
  afternoon and crest near 37 feet on Thursday, October 18.
