...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in 
Illinois and Missouri...
  Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau and Thebes
  
 
.Due to heavy rainfall in the Upper Mississippi River Valley, 
significant river flooding is expected to develop along the 
Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau and at Thebes. Moderate
flooding is forecast at both locations. The river is expected
to reach minor flood stage towards the end of this week. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded 
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow 
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather 
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* from late Thursday night until further notice.
* At  8:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 28.8 feet. 
* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Friday morning and continue to
  rise to near 38.5 feet by Thursday, October 18.
* Impact...At 38.0 Feet...The flood gate at Broadway closes.

* At  8:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 27.7 feet. 
* Flood Stage is 33.0 feet. 
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Saturday early afternoon and 
  continue to rise to near 37.0 feet by Thursday, October 18.
