The Flood Warning continues for
  The Chikaskia River near Blackwell. 
  
* until Thursday afternoon...or until the warning is cancelled. 
  
* At 8:30 AM Wednesday the stage was 33.0 feet. 
  
* Major flooding is occurring. 
  
* Flood stage is 29.0 feet. 
  
* Forecast...The Chikaskia River is near crest and a slight 
  additional rise is possible through early Wednesday afternoon. 
  The Chikaskia River is forecast to begin falling by late Wednesday 
  afternoon and fall below flood stage late Thursday morning. 
  
* Impact...At 33.0 feet...Floodwaters cover several city blocks in 
  northeast Blackwell. Some residences may suffer minor flooding and 
  some will be isolated by depths up to 4 feet in streets. Highway 
  177 north of Blackwell...and Hubbard Road southeast of Blackwell 
  are closed. Blackwell Avenue is overtopped at the bridge crossing. 
  Rural lands are inundated by floodwaters ranging up to 5 feet in 
  depth in extreme northeastern Grant and Kay counties.
