The Flood Watch continues for * Portions of central Upper Michigan and western Upper Michigan, including the following areas, in central Upper Michigan, Alger, Baraga, Delta, Dickinson, Iron, Marquette, and Menominee. In western Upper Michigan, Gogebic, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, Ontonagon, and Southern Houghton. * Until 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening * Additional rounds of moderate to heavy rain will continue through this evening, before rain diminishes overnight tonight. Expect another 1 to 2 inches of rain over much of Upper Michigan through this evening. Locally higher amounts are possible. * Due to the already saturated ground from the rain that has occurred this week, rivers and streams will be susceptible to quick rises. There may be minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas and its possible that minor flooding on rivers, including downstream of dams and other hydro projects, may linger through the end of the week. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. && $$ JLA
