The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southeast Georgia, including the following areas, Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Coffee, and Jeff Davis. * From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through late tonight * Major Hurricane Michael will make landfall along the Florida panhandle coast early this afternoon and will gradually turn north-northeastward as it accelerates across southwest and south central Georgia tonight. Outer rain bands and embedded thunderstorms will increase across inland southeast Georgia this afternoon, with the potential for flash flooding increasing this evening as Hurricane Michael makes it closest approach. Widespread 3 to 5 inch rainfall totals are possible across portions of inland southeast Georgia, with locally higher amounts possible through tonight. Heavy rainfall should diminish during the predawn and early morning hours on Thursday as Michael accelerates northeastward towards the Savannah River Valley. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
