The National Weather Service in Wichita has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
  Neosho County in southeastern Kansas...
  Allen County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 400 PM CDT Thursday.

* At 330 PM CDT, local law enforcement and emergency management 
  reported continued flooding concerns in portions of the warned 
  area. A dam break has occurred just south of Erie, and several 
  roads are still closed due to flood water from recent rainfall. 
  Flooding will continue along some roadways, low-lying areas, and 
  along streams, creeks, and rivers.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Chanute, Iola, Humboldt, Erie, St. Paul, La Harpe, Gas, Moran,
  Thayer, Galesburg, Savonburg, Elsmore, Stark, Earlton, Mildred,
  Bassett, Lake Parsons, Petrolia, Chanute Airport and South Mound.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
