The National Weather Service in Wichita has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
  Chase County in east central Kansas...

* Until 1030 AM CDT Thursday.

* At 943 AM CDT, emergency management reported flooding across 
  multiple roadways across Chase County. Flooding is ongoing and 
  continues to pose a threat to low-lying areas, roadways, and along 
  streams, creeks, and rivers.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Cottonwood Falls, Strong City, Bazaar, Elmdale, Matfield Green,
  Cedar Point, Hymer, Saffordville, Wonsevu, Tallgrass Prairie and
  Tallgrass Prairie Preserve.

This includes Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 97 and 115.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
