The National Weather Service in Wichita has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
  Wilson County in southeastern Kansas...
  Neosho County in southeastern Kansas...
  Allen County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 400 PM CDT Wednesday.

* At 320 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported continued flooding 
  concerns. Multiple roadways in the warned area remain flooded and 
  closed. Radar estimates that 3 to 5 inches have fallen in portions 
  of the warned area over the past 72 hours. Although the majority 
  of rainfall should end over the next several hours, usual flood-
  prone areas, low-lying areas, creeks, streams, and rivers will 
  continue to pose an areal flooding threat. 

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Chanute, Iola, Neodesha, Fredonia, Humboldt, Erie, St. Paul, La
  Harpe, Gas, Moran, Thayer, Altoona, Buffalo, Galesburg, Savonburg,
  Elsmore, Benedict, Stark, New Albany and Earlton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
