...THE FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR BUTLER COUNTY...

The heavy rain has ended and emergency management has reported that 
flood water is receding in most areas. However, there may still be 
some water in low-lying and usual flood-prone areas, including along 
streams, creeks, and rivers. Continue to use caution on roadways and 
do not drive through standing water.

...A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM CDT FOR COWLEY
COUNTY...

At 1100 AM CDT, emergency management reported continued flooding 
concerns across Cowley County. Although rainfall has ended, multiple 
roadways remain flooded, particularly near the Arkansas City area. 
Flooding remains possible in low-lying areas, roadways, and along 
streams, creeks, and rivers. 

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Arkansas City, Winfield, Udall, Burden, Dexter, Atlanta, Geuda
Springs, Rock, Cambridge, Maple City, Winfield City Lake and Strother
Field Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
