PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two 
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around don't drown.

  The Walnut River At Augusta.
* Until Wednesday evening.
* At  9:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 24.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by 
  Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet...Secondary roads in the vicinity of Augusta 
  begin to flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Walnut River At Winfield.
* Until late Friday night.
* At  9:46 PM Tuesday the stage was 22.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 23.6 feet by 
  Wednesday evening. The river will fall below flood stage Friday 
  early afternoon.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet...A large portion of the fairgrounds flood 
  along with rural roads about 3 miles northwest of Winfield that are
  near the river. Then one mile west of the city of Rock, expect 30th
  Road to be closed due to high water.

  The Walnut River Near Arkansas City.
* Until late Friday night.
* At  9:46 PM Tuesday the stage was 18.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.0 feet by 
  Thursday evening. The river will fall below flood stage Friday 
  early afternoon.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Considerable flooding of farmland is 
  expected. Widespread flooding of the park just upstream of the gage
  site is anticipated. East Chestnut Avenue east of By-pass is closed
  due to water over roadway. Greens Farm Road floods between Highway 
  166 north to Dunbar Hill.
