  Walnut River Near Arkansas City affecting Cowley County.

  Walnut River At Winfield affecting Butler and Cowley Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two 
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around don't drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Walnut River At Augusta.
* Until Wednesday afternoon.
* At  3:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 24.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will stay near 24.9 feet through this
  evening. The river will fall below flood stage early Wednesday 
  morning.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet...Secondary roads in the vicinity of Augusta 
  begin to flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Walnut River At Winfield.
* Until Saturday evening.
* At  3:15 PM Tuesday the stage was 21.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 28.7 feet by 
  early Wednesday afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage 
  late Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 28.0 feet...West 14th Avenue near the fairgrounds, 
  floods from the river on eastward to the levee.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Walnut River Near Arkansas City.
* Until Friday evening.
* At  3:16 PM Tuesday the stage was 17.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and 
  continue to rise to near 19.8 feet by Thursday early afternoon. The
  river will fall below flood stage by Friday morning.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Considerable flooding of farmland is 
  expected. Widespread flooding of the park just upstream of the gage
  site is anticipated. East Chestnut Avenue east of By-pass is closed
  due to water over roadway. Greens Farm Road floods between Highway 
  166 north to Dunbar Hill.
