The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has extended
the

* Flood Advisory for...
  Northeastern McDowell County in western North Carolina...
  Northwestern Caldwell County in western North Carolina...
  Southeastern Avery County in western North Carolina...
  Northwestern Burke County in western North Carolina...

* Until 500 PM EDT.

* At 115 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges continued 
  to indicate scattered moderate to heavy showers moving into the 
  advisory area from the south. This rainfall, in addition to the 1 
  to locally 3 inches of rainfall from earlier today, will continue 
  to bring minor flooding to the area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Marion, Blowing Rock In Caldwell County, Lake James State Park,
  Table Rock, Lake James, Nebo, Edgemont, Collettsville, Ashford and
  Jonas Ridge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
