The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has extended
the

* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for...
  Western McDowell County in western North Carolina...

* Until 415 PM EDT.

* At 100 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges continued 
  to indicate scattered moderate to heavy showers moving from the 
  south into the advisory area. Minor flooding is expected to 
  continue through at least the middle of the afternoon as 
  additional moderate to heavy rain is expected in the advisory area 
  which has already received 1 to locally 3 inches of rain earlier 
  today.
  
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Old Fort, B.R. Parkway-Little Switzerland To Linville, B.R.
  Parkway-Craggy To Little Switzerland, Pleasant Gardens, Little
  Switzerland, Woodlawn, Sugar Hill, Montreat and Busick.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
