* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Catawba County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
  Alexander County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
  Iredell County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
  Eastern Caldwell County in western North Carolina...
  Southeastern Burke County in western North Carolina...

* Until 315 PM EDT.

* At 1047 AM EDT, Doppler radar was showing increasingly intense 
  tropical rain showers encroaching upon and developing atop the 
  warned area. Developing stream and urban flooding is likely to 
  develop across many locations throughout the I-77 and I-40 
  corridor in the western North Carolina piedmont.  Localized 
  rainfall totals by later this afternoon could near 5 inches.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include but are
  not limited to...
  Hickory, Statesville, Lenoir, Newton, Taylorsville, Mooresville, 
  St. Stephens, Conover, Longview and Sawmills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remember, most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to 
cross water-covered roadways, bridges, or low-level crossings. Only 
a few inches of rapidly flowing water can carry away your vehicle. 
It is not worth the risk. Please TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.
