The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Cleveland County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 300 PM EDT.

* At 959 AM EDT, The Cleveland County rain gage network was showing 
  that anywhere from 1.5 to 3 inches of rain had fallen across the 
  county since yesterday. Additional, occasionally heavy, tropical 
  showers will continue to develop countywide into this afternoon. 
  Expect developing flood conditions on many creeks within the Broad 
  and First Broad basins, and aggravated high water conditions and
  urban type flooding thoughout greater Shelby and the highway 74
  corridor.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Shelby, Kings Mountain, Boiling Springs, Belwood, Grover, 
  Lawndale, Patterson Springs, Fallston, Polkville and Lattimore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to cross
water-covered roadways, bridges, or low-level crossings. Only a few
inches of rapidly flowing water can carry away your vehicle. It is
not worth the risk. Please TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.
