...Flash Flood Threat Increasing Through Wednesday...

.Scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain are
expected across mainly portions of eastern Iowa this evening. 
This heavy rain threat will increase area-wide tonight and into
Wednesday morning. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected 
through Wednesday morning. With saturated soils, this rainfall 
will quickly runoff and likely produce flash flooding. In 
addition, most rivers and creeks are already in moderate to major 
flood and this additional rainfall will prolong or worsen the 
ongoing river flooding.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of east central Iowa, northeast Iowa, and southeast 
  Iowa, including the following areas, in east central Iowa, 
  Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, and Linn. In northeast 
  Iowa, Buchanan, Delaware, and Dubuque. In southeast Iowa, 
  Jefferson, Keokuk, and Washington. 

* Through Wednesday afternoon

* Multiple rounds of showers and storms with heavy rainfall.

* Any new heavy rainfall will bring significant runoff, which 
  may cause flash flooding. In addition, this would worsen the 
  ongoing river flooding. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that flash flooding is possible.
Monitor forecasts and take action if flash flood warnings are
issued or flash flooding develops.

* Portions of Iowa and northeast Missouri, including the 
  following areas, in Iowa, Des Moines, Henry IA, Lee, Louisa, 
  Muscatine, and Van Buren. In northeast Missouri, Clark and 
  Scotland. 

* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Wednesday afternoon

* Multiple rounds of showers and storms with heavy rainfall.

* Any new heavy rainfall will bring significant runoff, which 
  may cause flash flooding. In addition, this would worsen the 
  ongoing river flooding.
