The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Rush County in central Kansas...
  Ellis County in central Kansas...

* Until 915 AM CDT Wednesday.

* At 311 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding across 
  several roads in Ellis county where radar estimated 4 to 5 inches 
  of rain had fallen. This area of heavy rainfall extends into 
  northern Rush county. 

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Hays, Ellis, La Crosse, Victoria, Walker, Catherine, Otis, Bison,
  Schoenchen, McCracken, Rush Center, Liebenthal, Timken, Alexander,
  Emmeram, Yocemento, Munjor, Loretta, Nekoma and Hargrave.

This warning extends the previous warning issued for Rush and Ellis 
counties. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
