The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  Central Sullivan County in central New York...

* Until 300 PM EDT.

* At 1204 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
  minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has 
  already fallen...and an additional half to 1 inch of rain is 
  possible in a short period of time during the afternoon.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Fallsburg, Monticello, Liberty, Neversink, South Fallsburg,
  Wurtsboro, Woodridge, Bloomingburg, Jeffersonville and
  Phillipsport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
