The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a High Wind Watch, which is in effect from Thursday evening through Friday morning. * AREAS AFFECTED: Southeast Virginia, The Lower Eastern Shore, and Northeast North Carolina. * HAZARDS: Strong or damaging wind gusts. * WINDS: East to Southeast 25 to 40 mph Thursday evening, becoming north to northwest 25 to 40 mph later Thursday night into early Friday morning.
