...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY
MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a High Wind
Watch, which is in effect from Thursday evening through Friday
morning.

* AREAS AFFECTED: Southeast Virginia, The Lower Eastern Shore, and
  Northeast North Carolina.

* HAZARDS: Strong or damaging wind gusts.

* WINDS: East to Southeast 25 to 40 mph Thursday evening, becoming
  north to northwest 25 to 40 mph later Thursday night into early
  Friday morning. Wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph are possible.

* TIMING: Thursday night into early Friday morning as the remnants
  of Michael interact with a cold front.

* IMPACTS: Strong wind combined with heavy rain will cause downed
  trees and scattered power outages. Minor structural damage is
  possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph...or gusts of
58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
forecasts.
