DISCUSSION...
A large area of showers and a few thunderstorms will continue to spread 
to north across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas through the evening
hours. There is the potential for a few severe thunderstorms early this 
evening across far northwest Arkansas. Strong gusty winds and possibly 
a brief tornado will be possible. Locally heavy rain will also be possible 
with the potential for flash flooding across portions of eastern Oklahoma 
and western Arkansas. The showers and thunderstorms are expected to end late 
tonight into Wednesday morning as a cold front moves through the region.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Much cooler weather is expected across the region on Thursday and
Friday. 

The remnants of Hurricane Sergio in the Pacific are expected to
move across the region on Saturday, ahead of another strong cold 
front. Very heavy rainfall and flooding will be possible. The 
exact track of the remnant moisture is still uncertain, but the 
latest trends in the data suggest that the heaviest rainfall will 
fall across northeast Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas
