242 FXUS62 KTBW 111542 AFDTBW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 1142 AM EDT Thu Oct 11 2018 .UPDATE... Thankfully, Tropical Storm Michael continues to quickly push away from our region which will provide good recovery weather for our friends in the Panhandle which were devastated yesterday by this historic storm... A trailing line of showers with a few embedded thunderstorms formed early this morning and is currently oriented from NE-SW between Highlands county to approximately 70 miles off the coast of Charlotte county. This line has been rather persistent and training over the same areas, so we will monitor closely over the next few hours for possible street flooding concerns. Besides adjusting PoPs related to this convective band, no large changes were made this morning. && .AVIATION... A line of heavy showers has persisted across PGD and created periods of IFR and even LIFR. This line will very slowly work towards the southeast and likely affect RSW/FMY early this afternoon. Winds remain out of the W-WSW and will eventually veer more out of the north as a drier boundary pushes into the area tonight. && .MARINE... Tropical storm Michael is quickly pushing away from the region. Winds and seas will continue to improve through the day but conditions will still not be ideal for boating due to residual seas and breezy winds. A frontal boundary will push across the area through the evening and overnight hours, shifting winds to a more northerly direction. Dry weather and northerly winds will persist through the weekend. && .Preliminary Point Temps/PoPs...
