237 FXUS62 KTBW 110810 AFDTBW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 410 AM EDT Thu Oct 11 2018 .DISCUSSION... Tropical Storm Michael continues to move quickly to the northeast into the Carolinas while continuing to weaken this morning. Closer to home, deep tropical moisture remains in place with bands of showers and thunderstorms lingering from Michael. As Michael pulls away, a weak frontal boundary will approach the area and will bring with it a little taste of fall in the form of lower humidity and cooler overnight lows, but don't get too excited as it'll be pretty short- lived. For today, temps will top out around 90 across the area with scattered showers and isolated storms possible mainly from the Bay area south where deeper moisture is in place. Drier air associated with the aforementioned boundary will push into the area throughout the afternoon and evening hours allowing for a mostly dry and sunny day on Friday. The noticeable cooldown comes Saturday morning as overnight lows in the upper 50s expected across the Nature Coast with 60s expected everywhere else except for lower 70s near the beaches and across far SW Florida. High pressure controls the weather through the weekend while the high moves off the east coast by Monday which will result in easterly wind flow over Florida returning allowing for increasing moisture and rain chances to return over the peninsula through the middle of next week. Temperatures will return to above normal to start next week. && .AVIATION... BKN-OVC mid and high clouds continue overnight as SCT SHRA scoot northeastward with brief MVFR VSBY/CIGS and some gusty winds. Expect SHRA to exit by mid-mornings as CIGS slowly lift. Southerly winds gradually veer and diminish. && .MARINE... Winds and seas continue to subside over the Gulf waters this morning as Michael pushes away from the region. SW to west winds around 20 knots will continue for a few more hours before diminishing to around 10 to 15 knots area wide. Seas will remain elevated as well so Small Craft Advisories continue through mid to late morning. Winds become northwest by later in the day as a frontal boundary pushes through the area. High pressure then takes control of the weather through the weekend and into next week with no hazardous marine conditions expected. && .FIRE WEATHER... Abundant atmospheric moisture continues across the region with scattered showers and storms expected today especially from Tampa Bay south. Some drier air will move in late in the week, but relative humidity values are expected to remain above critical thresholds which will preclude any fire weather concerns. && .Preliminary Point Temps/PoPs...
