Highest activity will be south of Cape Canaveral and along the Treasure Coast, where showers and storms could produce lightning strikes and brief heavy downpours leading to ponding water. Storm motion today will be southwest to northeast at 15 to 20 mph. .RIP CURRENT IMPACT... A Moderate Risk of rip currents is in effect for east central FL beaches today. Rip activity will be highest around low tide, which occurs in the mid to late afternoon today. Always swim in sight of a lifeguard. .MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT... Showers and storms south of Cape Canaveral will be capable of producing wind gusts of 35 knots today. Mariners should keep an eye to the skies as these storms will be moving offshore from the west. Seek safe harbor when skies appear threatening. .WIND AND SEA IMPACT... South to southwest winds of 15 to 20 knots across the Volusia and offshore Brevard waters this morning will keep seas elevated to 6 to 7 feet.
