051 FXUS62 KMLB 111434 AFDMLB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Melbourne FL 1034 AM EDT Thu Oct 11 2018 .DISCUSSION... Several lines of showers with a few embedded thunderstorms have been drifting to the east-northeast this morning across the Treasure Coast. These are expected to continue affecting the area through the rest of the morning and early afternoon. This was due to an elongated area of moisture extending from Tropical Storm Michael, which was located over north-central South Carolina this morning. On the forecast track, Michael will move across portions of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia today, reaching the Atlantic Ocean late tonight or early Friday. As it does this, drier air will move in from the north, limiting rain chances to the Treasure Coast this afternoon and evening. No changes were made to the previous forecast. && .AVIATION... Low clouds have been reported across most of the east central FL terminals this morning. But as the morning progresses, conditions should improve. Winds will go around the clock today, starting from the SW at 14z, W around midnight and NW by early Friday morning. Wind speeds will be around 5 to 10 kts today, decreasing to near 5 kts tonight. Reduction to the visibilities remains possible for KVRB-KSUA with the passage of any shower through the evening. && .MARINE... As winds continue to decrease across the local waters, seas will subside below advisory criteria as well this afternoon and evening. Southwest winds will range from 15 to 20 knots for the northern waters (east of Volusia) to 10 to 15 knots east of the Treasure Coast this afternoon. && .MLB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... FL...None.
