652 FXUS65 KGGW 100845 AFDGGW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Glasgow MT 245 AM MDT Wed Oct 10 2018 .DISCUSSION... A broad upper trough will cover most of the Western and Central US the next 2 days keeping temperatures well below normal. Meanwhile, surface high pressure will keep weather dry for the most part. A shortwave trough moving through the area Thursday afternoon and evening will nudge the trough to the east and flow aloft will turn to the NW. An upper ridge in NW flow aloft will bring warmer temperatures on Friday that will be near normal for mid October. A strong shortwave trough moves southeast through the forecast area Friday Night with a cold front. Most of the moisture with this system stays to the north in Saskatchewan so there will only be a chance of rain or snow Friday Night. Main impact will be gusty northwest winds behind the cold front Friday Night and Saturday with much colder temperatures on Saturday. The cold temperatures will continue on Sunday with NW flow aloft over the area. A strong upper ridge off the Pacific Northwest coast will build over the weekend which will keep the flow aloft over Montana out of the NW for the first half of next week. A shortwave trough within the NW flow aloft could bring a chance of rain and snow on Monday. Then, Tuesday and Wednesday looks mainly dry at this point. Forrester && .AVIATION...
