103 FXUS65 KGGW 100425 AFDGGW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Glasgow MT 1025 PM MDT Tue Oct 9 2018 .DISCUSSION... Tranquil weather conditions prevailed across Northeast Montana tonight. No changes in this quiet weather pattern is expected through Saturday as indicated in the previous discussion. Low temperatures will drop in the mid to upper 20s near the Canadian border and in southern part of the forecast area. Elsewhere, lows in the low 30s are expected. FGC Previous discussion: A broad upper trough is in place over Montana and the Northern Plains and will remain that way until a disturbance drops in from the northwest Thursday Night. This disturbance will nudge the trough to the east and put the area in a Northwest flow regime. Basically beyond this point, we'll remain cool with disturbances bringing a bump up in temps ahead of them then a drop. The next disturbance to do that will be on Saturday. The cold front will drop in Friday evening with windy conditions Saturday. Models are showing best qpf over Sask and weaken/dry with downslope Saturday. It won't be a great day as temps will be well below normal and winds will add to the chill. A strong upper ridge off the Pacific Northwest coast will build inland but another clipper will move in sometime early next week to bring another shot of wind, cool air and the chance of mostly rain showers. It is expected that the ridge will win out later next week with temperatures close or above normal as the disturbances stay to our northeast. TFJ && .AVIATION... MVFR conditions will prevail across most TAF sites overnight with low ceilings expected. Conditions will improve Wednesday morning with mainly VFR conditions expected. Low level winds will be light and variable tomorrow. && .GLASGOW WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...NONE. && $$ weather.gov/glasgow
