...THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
1245 PM EDT FOR CENTRAL LACKAWANNA AND CENTRAL LUZERNE COUNTIES...

At 1047 AM EDT, Doppler radar continues to indicate heavy rain that 
will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up 
to an inch and a half of rain has already fallen...and an additional 
half inch is possible in a short period of time through late this 
morning.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Dunmore, Kingston, Nanticoke, Plains, Old
Forge, Pittston, Taylor and Dickson City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Chambers Creek Near Rice.
* At 0900 AM Thursday the stage was 25.70 feet.
* Flood stage is 24 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to a crest near 26 feet 
  by Thursday afternoon. The river should fall below flood stage 
  Thursday night.

...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM EDT FOR PIKE
COUNTY...

At 1046 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated rain continued to fall 
across the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen, 
but there have not been any reports of flooding as of 1045 AM EDT. 

Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Pikeville, Elkhorn City, Forest Hills, Huddy, Meta, Jamboree,
Fishtrap Lake, Garden Village, Toonerville, Dorton, Woodman and
Biggs.

Additional rainfall of one-half inch is expected in far eastern Pike 
County between 1045 AM and 1215 PM EDT. This additional rain will 
result in minor localized flooding in far eastern sections of Pike 
County.
