  Walnut River At Winfield affecting Butler and Cowley Counties.

  Walnut River Near Arkansas City affecting Cowley County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two 
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around don't drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Walnut River At Winfield.
* Until Saturday morning.
* At  8:46 AM Thursday the stage was 25.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 25.0 feet by this
  afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage Friday evening.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet...A large portion of the fairgrounds flood 
  along with rural roads about 3 miles northwest of Winfield that are
  near the river. Then one mile west of the city of Rock, expect 30th
  Road to be closed due to high water.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Walnut River Near Arkansas City.
* Until Saturday morning.
* At  8:46 AM Thursday the stage was 20.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 21.0 feet by this
  evening. The river will fall below flood stage Friday evening.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Considerable flooding of farmland is 
  expected. Widespread flooding of the park just upstream of the gage
  site is anticipated. East Chestnut Avenue east of By-pass is closed
  due to water over roadway. Greens Farm Road floods between Highway 
  166 north to Dunbar Hill.
