Northeastern McDowell County in western North Carolina... Northwestern Caldwell County in western North Carolina... Southeastern Avery County in western North Carolina... Northwestern Burke County in western North Carolina... * Until 800 AM EDT Thursday. * At 151 AM EDT, runoff from earlier heavy rainfall has maintained minor flooding conditions across the area as streams are slow to recede. * Streams are cresting but flooding will continue for the next several hours as levels remain near or slightly above Minor Flood Stage. Therefore, the Flood Advisory has been extended to 8 AM. Please continue to avoid common flood-prone areas and roads and heed all barricades. * Additional moderate to heavy rainfall may develop through the morning, and this rainfall will likely cause new flooding to develop. Please stay weather aware. * The following roadways are currently inundated by floodwaters: Brown Mountain Beach Rd, Fish Hatchery Rd, and Old Johns River Rd. * The following stream gauge remains above Minor Flood Stage: Johns River at Arneys Store 6 N Morganton. Current Stage: 12.87 feet and slowly falling. Forecast: The Johns River should continue to recede this morning unless new heavier rainfall develops. Action Stage: 9.0 feet. Minor Flood Stage: 12.0 feet. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Heavy rain falling along mountain creeks can cause sudden increases in water flow downstream, even in areas where it is not raining. People participating in outdoor recreation should move away from creeks and small streams. If heavy rainfall continues, the advisory may be upgraded to a Flash Flood Warning. People in flood prone areas, especially along creeks and small streams, should prepare to move to higher ground quickly if a Flash Flood Warning is issued. Only when it is safe to do so, please report floodwaters or landslides flowing over roads or threatening property to the National Weather Service by calling toll-free, 1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1, by posting on our Facebook page, or via Twitter using hashtag NWSGSP. Your message should describe the event and the specific location where it occurred, including roadways, nearby cross streets, stream names, and other landmarks. && LAT...LON 3612 8155 3586 8168 3575 8178 3567 8205 3586 8203 3588 8201 3587 8200 3589 8198 3591 8198 3611 8180 3612 8169 $$ KRENTZ 351 WGUS83 KJKL 110600 FLSJKL Flood Advisory National Weather Service JACKSON KY 200 AM EDT THU OCT 11 2018 KYC125-199-203-110900- /O.NEW.KJKL.FA.Y.0202.181011T0600Z-181011T0900Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Laurel KY-Pulaski KY-Rockcastle KY- 200 AM EDT THU OCT 11 2018 The National Weather Service in JACKSON KY has issued a * Flood Advisory for...
