.A flood warning continues along the Kickapoo River.

River forecasts take into account both observed and forecast 
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

 

Do not drive cars into flooded areas. Remember, it only takes two 
feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility 
vehicles. Turn Around, Don't Drown!

  The Kickapoo River at Viola.
* until Saturday evening...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  8:27 PM Wednesday the stage was 15.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 15.6 feet by 
  Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Friday 
  evening.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Banker Park and Campground in Viola 
  experiences significant flooding.

* until late Saturday night...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  9:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 12.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 12.5 feet by 
  Thursday. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Water is up to the bottom of the Charles 
  Street Bridge.

* At 12:53 PM Wednesday the stage was 12.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Thursday and continue to rise 
  to near 13.2 feet by Thursday evening. The river will fall below 
  flood stage by Friday afternoon.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet...Water may begin to flood the park and 
  campground area in the old section of town.

  Gays Mills.

* until late Monday night...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  8:45 PM Wednesday the stage was 11.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to 
  rise to near 13.2 feet by Saturday morning. The river will fall 
  below flood stage by Monday morning.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Bridge Street near the gage begins to flood 
  and Highway 179 may be threatened.
