At 532 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen. Flooding continues along several creeks and streams. The Watauga river near Sugar Grove is in flood at 8 feet and rising. The Watauga river at Foscoe has crested and is falling this evening. There remain the potential for flash flooding where heavier rate are occurring. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Boone... North Wilkesboro... Wilkesboro... Sparta... and Jefferson. Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the warned area. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
