At 733 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across much of the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Davenport, Dubuque, Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, Clinton, Muscatine, East Moline, Maquoketa, Galena, Durant, Silvis, Eldridge, DeWitt, Milan, Camanche, Asbury, Dyersville, Le Claire and Coal Valley. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 are possible in the warned area through the morning hours. With the saturated soil conditions, most of this rain will run off quickly and cause flash flooding along creeks and streams and rural roads. Flash flooding is also possible in urban areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. Flooding is also possible in urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. In hilly terrain there are low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads.
