There are reports of flooding, including in the Duluth area. Gale to storm-force northeast winds over the Lake are generating large waves over the Lake and piling up water on to the lakeshore. The winds will weaken late this afternoon and evening, which will begin to alleviate the flooding along the lakeshore. The strong winds from Lake Superior are translating inland. A Wind Advisory is in effect for portions of northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin through this afternoon for wind gusts up to 50 mph. Areas affected include the Two Harbors, Duluth and Superior, and Ashland areas. Considering the saturated soils from recent rain, trees will be more prone to be uprooted and toppling. Isolated power outages are possible. A Flood Watch is in effect for much of northwest Wisconsin through early this afternoon. Recent rains have caused streams and rives to rise in the area. There could be flooding in low-lying areas and trouble spots. A Winter Weather Advisory continues for Koochiching, northern Saint Louis, and has been expanded to include northern Itasca counties through tonight. Expect 3 to 6 inches of snow accumulation, with the potential for up to 8 inches over far northwestern Koochiching county. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotters are requested to report flooding, wind damage, rainfall, precipitation type, and snowfall amounts to the National Weather Service.
