Surf waves will remain choppy and as high as 8 to 10 feet this evening near the jetty, and 5 to 8 feet elsewhere, along the barrier island. Dangerous rip currents will continue through the night at all beaches. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday Thursday: The last of Michael's swell will continue to produce deceptively dangerous rip currents as the surf lowers and becomes less choppy. Surf waves will continue near or above head height through early to mid morning before gradually subsiding. Friday through Sunday: An elevated threat for dangerous rip currents will continue at the beaches Friday due to moderate onshore flow, with an elevated threat for dangerous south to north longshore currents over the weekend. Monday through Tuesday: Dangerous rip currents and gusty north winds to 30 mph or higher are possible Monday as the season's first cold front sweeps through south Texas. The high threat for dangerous rip currents will continue into Tuesday.
