Current forecast generally on track with no anticipated updates this evening. Still looking at the development of a drier, northerly flow for tomorrow with slightly warmer temperatures. && .AVIATION...VFR with OVC mid and high level clouds, but otherwise dry. Widespread clearing on Thursday afternoon. Surface winds: generally west/northwest around 10 kts or less. Winds aloft near 10 KFT MSL: North 10-15 kts. && .PREV DISCUSSION... SHORT TERM...Tonight through Friday...A weak upper level system will move southeast across the eastern portion of the CWA overnight, spreading light showers mainly into the higher terrain on the Idaho side. Upslope showers will also form in southeast Owyhee County and southern Twin Falls County. These showers will dissipate as the system moves away early Thu, and we will be mostly clear, dry, and cool Thu afternoon through Friday. Our upper level flow will shift from northerly to northwesterly by Friday afternoon. LONG TERM...Friday night through Wednesday...Northerly flow aloft will continue to bring below-normal temperatures to the area through Monday morning. Temperatures will be about 10 degrees below normal before a warming trend begins on Monday afternoon. This could also bring a hard frost and the first freeze of the season to agricultural areas. High pressure builds over the region on Tuesday and Wednesday allowing temperatures to warm back to normal or even a few degrees above normal.
