As a weak upper level wave moves southeast toward the mountains of central Idaho this afternoon, we will see clouds continue mainly over the Idaho side, with some clearing on the Oregon side and into the Lower Treasure Valley in both Oregon and Idaho. Showers will spread into the mountains late this afternoon and tonight with the approach of the upper level wave, and a little reinforcing of cold air will occur as well, keeping temperatures well below normal today and tomorrow. All this is well-covered by the current forecast, and no changes are anticipated this morning. && .AVIATION...MVFR ceilings in portions of Idaho with mountain obscurations will continue through noon. SHORT TERM...Today through Thursday...A low pressure system centered over northern Utah will continue to bring widespread showers to south-central Idaho early this morning. The low will continue to move east, resulting in decreasing shower activity later this morning. A weak upper trough will move in from the north for scattered showers in central Idaho this afternoon and evening. The trough will exit to the southeast on Thursday with showers ending by afternoon. Northerly flow will keep temperatures cool through the period, although trending slightly warmer each day. LONG TERM...Thursday night through Tuesday...Weak ridging will develop over the area on Friday, with slightly warmer temperatures. A cold front will move across Montana on Saturday, bringing a reinforcement of cooler temperatures (around 10 degrees below normal) through Sunday.
